Limberlost Place is a unique mass timber 10-storey educational facility currently under construction at George Brown College’s Waterfront Campus. When completed, Limberlost Place will house the college’s architecture and computer technology programs, as well as the Brookfield Sustainability Institute. Sustainability is truly the key word for this project, which is designed to meet or exceed Toronto Green Standard targets for energy use, thermal demand, and greenhouse gas emissions. It’s a global model for mass timber sustainable construction.
This flagship project is a perfect fit for Guild’s increasing focus on sustainable construction. As a Design-Assist partner, we’ll be contributing our expertise to the building’s cutting-edge electrical systems, including the roof-mounted solar array that will generate almost a quarter of the power the facility requires.
